11- Perth, WA

November 8th, 2022

Tuesday we did Perth with Veronica. We took a local bus into the city and went to visit Veronica’s work place and met more friendly Australians. We went across the road to see the lovely St Mary’s Cathedral. The windows and the mosaic tiles are works of art, stunningly beautiful. We continued on to Yagan Square to meet with our city tour guide. She walked us through the city center and gave us some interesting background on Perth. On the walk Cathy spied Livingstone’s Cafe and we were had to return to have lunch at Livingstone’s (Cathy’s maiden name.) We continued on to the mint and watched as a bar of gold was poured. We saw many huge nuggets and some lovely jewellery. As we walked through the square we stopped in a shop where some ladies were selling some beautiful knitted/crocheted poppies, the same kind we saw at King’s Park cenotaph. We ended the day with a tour of Inglewood Triangle Park guided by Sue. We then went to Sue and Rosita’s for a lovely supper and lots of laughs. More wonderful Australians.
