15- Hello Tasmania

November 12th we spent all day flying to Tasmania. We arrived at our hotel at about 10:00 PM. WE choose a SkyBus to take us in but it departed much later than we expected. It dropped us off almost on our hotel doorstep.

We booked a tour to the Hasting Caves which were amazing. It was a wet rainy day with about 12C. We drove about an hour and a half to get the caves which had  huge chambers with stalactites and stalagmites. The caves are the largest dolomite cave that is open to visitors in Australia. We saw spectacular stalactites, columns, shawls and stalagmites. We could have warmed up in a thermal-spring pool but didn't relish the tough of being wet and freezing on way back.

We walked in the treetops on the Tahune airwalk, crossed a swinging bridge, saw Huon pines and enjoyed the views of the surrounding forest on this two-hour forest adventure where a forrest for had swept through in 2019

We had lunch at the Kermandie Hotel, built in 1932, and enjoyed the warmth of the fireplace as we were all quite cold. We were glad to get back to hotel to thaw out.
