27 Canberra Zoo

November 27, 2022

This Sunday morning, we went to church with Chris, Candra and the girls.  The priest conducting the service walked down the aisle with his little dog in tow. Doggie was dropped off with friends in the congregation for the duration of the service. The celebrant was a former bishop, about 85-90 years, who was filling in for the regular pastor. When you reach that age, you make the rules.   During the service he prayed for/to Saint Sr Mary Mackillop, a woman with Cape Breton roots.  This mention drew our eye to the stained-glass windows with pictures of people with religious vocations. Upon closer inspection, we spotted St Mary Mackillop on a window.

After mass we went for brunch at ‘Deakin and Me’, a wonderful restaurant where we enjoyed a scrumptious brunch.

Next stop was the Canberra Zoo. We spent about four hours browsing the animal exhibits. Our favourites were the peacocks, rhino, cheetah, Llamas, kangaroos and the turtles.

We arrived back home for a hopscotch building and playing tutorial from Cathy, then unfortunately our hopscotch frame was wiped out by a  huge hail and thunderstorm.
