4 Departing Carnarvon Gorge. October 31, 2022

Saturday morning was time to pack and leave Carnarvon. We packed up like a Tetris game and  drove toward Makay on the coast. We went overland through Rolleston, Blackwater, Dingo, Nebo and on to Mackay. Lots of bush and an ever-changing landscape.  We were riding shotgun and on the lookout for Roos. We saw emus, turkeys, lots of cows and roos. The region we went through has many, many coal mines. We stopped at a rest stop and were ambushed by small flies. The car thermometer registered 37 C. Sunday was supposed to be Great Barrier Reef but it was cancelled.  We arrived at Margaret's in Mackay, wonderful place. We stayed here with Margaret and Trish and had a wonderful relaxing day.
