Australia is awesome. The people are so wonderful, even the border guards are friendly. 😇
We are 13 hours ahead of Atlantic time. We bought SIM cards at the airport and have lots of data. Free international calling. While in Carnavon Gorger and the bushlands we had very limited coverage and the Wifi at the campgrounds were outside, so our screens attracted swarms of bugs. I closed my computer and when I reopened it, there were pressed bugs all over my screen and keyboard.
Saturday morning we were out in the Gorge again. It is a canyon formed by erosion eating through the seafloor of an ancient sea. The paths we take are bordered on each side by very steep canyon walls of white porous sandstone. The climate is tropical, with the many ferns, gum and palm trees. Lots of beautiful wild hibiscus and amazing gum trees.
We did some serious hiking in the park, 16 km Friday and 18 on Saturday. On our way here we were on the lookout for kangaroos. My job was to ride shotgun and be on Roo watch. Lots of dead ones on the road. When we drove in to the Wilderness Camp we passed 11 bridges (low spots) on the road where there were warnings of floods, with markers to show how high the water had risen. If it had started to rain, we would have had to high tail it out of there since there would be a good possibility of being stranded.
After we settled in the first night we caught sight of our first Roos. They were all over the lawn, The whole family with joeys in the pouches and mommas. Then Kangaroos became just ordinary, they were everywhere.

Great pictures .Keep them coming. You will be in great shape for golf.
